Winton School District students, staff, families and community,

The first month of 2020/2021 school is well underway and I am thrilled to welcome back our students to this new, virtual way of learning. This is a different kind of excitement, but nonetheless, it marked the start of what I’m sure will be a great year. The month of August brought challenges and the district continues to work to remedy issues with Zoom as well as other software and laptop issues. Know that school leaders, staff and teachers anticipate unforeseen issues and have been asked to meet these circumstances with flexibility, patience and partnership. These are unchartered waters for all of us. If we can steer each student through these obstacles with the same understanding, these next few months of online learning will provide valuable learning and skills to students. There is no better time than now to remind ourselves and each other that this year will be unlike any other. However, I believe this year will prove to be our finest hour, an example of what the Winton community can truly be.

As always, reach out to teachers, principals and each other during these first few weeks of school to problem solve and overcome the unpredicted. Together, we will get through this crisis and come out stronger when distance learning concludes.
